This river view terrace apartment is situated within the unique village of Port Grimaud, often referred to as 'The Venice of France' with it's 7 km of canals, you can relax in this safe and tranquil location, right next to the sandy beach. Traditional French style villas and market squares complete this beautiful setting. Perfectly placed for discovering the villages of the Maures Massive or the bright lights of St. Tropez just 6 km away, or just relax on the good sized, secluded south facing terrace.

Just stroll for one minute and discover a sandy beach that gently gives way to the clear waters of the Mediterranean, which is very safe for children as motor boats and jet skis are excluded from this swimming area. Boat hire, sailing school and most other water sports can be found on the adjacent beach.

There are many restaurants around Port Grimaud two of which are within ten minutes walk, continue a little further on and you reach a square with a patisserie, tabac, bars and more restaurants also an area to meet for a traditional game of boules. A market is held here on Monday and Wednesday mornings, tennis is also available a little further on. The busier tourist area is approx 30 minutes walk from the apartment, a 2 minute drive, or a pretty 10 minute boat ride away if you flag down the resident's water taxi from the end of the beach.

Accommodation

Private terrace ideal for sunbathing and dining alfresco

The apartment is on the first floor of a one story building and comprises of:

· Kitchen - well equipped and compact with microwave, 2 hotplates, full size oven, extra fold away work surface, fridge with small freezer compartment, cutlery etc for 6

· Lounge - a comfortable area with full width doors onto the terrace. There are two sofas, one being a large double sofabed. There is provision for 4-6 people to dine here, a small colour TV, ceiling fan and air conditioning. The apartment is heated for the winter months.

· Mezzanine - large area with double bed, please note: slightly restricted head height

· Cabin - a separate curtained off area, two bunk beds, suitable for children or adults

· Bathroom - with bath, shower, WC, bidet, mosaic decoration

· Secluded Sun terrace with outdoor furniture for 6, large sun shade umbrella, directly overlooking the River Giscle

Allocated parking:

Cars are kept to a minimum within Port Grimaud, though of course residents have access by car and the apartment has allocated parking right outside (bay number 18). Bicycles, boats or water taxi are some alternative ways to get around.

Surrounding Area

The stylish old fishing village of St. Tropez is within easy reach, 6 km by car or take the 20 minute ferry ride across the bay. Here you will find designer shops, quaint streets, galleries, artists and of course a harbour full of impressive yachts surrounded by bars and restaurants. There is a lively market held here every Tuesday and Saturday.

Many activities are available within easy reach you will find: sailing, diving, golf, mini golf, fun fair, water parks, horse riding, go-karting, bowling, casinos and Treetop Adventure Park.

If you decide to take a break from the activity of the coast, it will only take you 10 minutes to drive into the beautiful countryside of the Maures Hills, with twisting roads, dramatic views leading to small unspoiled villages - try Ramatuelle, Gassin, and Grimaud with it's ruined castle to name a few. Within the surprisingly lush landscape vineyards are aplenty with many opportunities to taste the local wine.

Travel

By Air:
The flight to Nice takes approx 1.5 hrs. Easyjet flies from Luton, Gatwick , Bristol, Stansted and Liverpool they offer some amazingly good deals especially if booked early. British Airways and BMI are also offering some very reasonable flights from Heathrow. Hire cars are available at Nice airport, including Easycar which are again very competitive, at present however Holiday Autos are willing to better any price and waiver any excess on car insurance. The drive from Nice to Port Grimaud takes approx 1 hr 20mins with the A8 motorway being a joy after the UK roads, do not forget some change for the tolls (some credit cards are accepted but not all). Exit at Junction 36 Le Muy and follow signs to St. Tropez. Toulon airport is approx 30 mins drive away. Various low cost airlines fly from Stansted and East Midlands into Toulon which is becoming more and more popular. Most major car hire companies are available here.

Train:
The TGV goes to Les Arcs, (30 minutes drive from Port Grimaud) with only one change at Lille from Waterloo. Frejus/St Raphael is the nearest SNCF station. There are buses connecting Port Grimaud to St Raphael but they are not very frequent and do not necessarily meet trains.

Car:
From Calais to Port Grimaud the distance is approximately 750 miles. Autoroutes are fast and using the A8 down to Le Luc, means a lovely drive over the Maures mountains through the pretty towns into Port Grimaud itself.

All prices are per week, (Saturday to Saturday) and include all utilities, although an additional charge may be made for heating during winter.

Arrival time is after 4.00pm and departure time is before 12.00am.
Times quoted are local times.

A non-refundable deposit of £100.00 per week booked is required upon making a reservation, with the balance being payable 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.

For short notice bookings, i.e. within 8 weeks of occupation of the apartment, the full payment will be required at the time of the booking.

A refundable security deposit of £100.00 is payable upon full confirmation this will be refunded 2-3 weeks after the end of your holiday provided no damage or alteration of content has been advised to us.

You can take your own linen and towels or they can be provided for an
additional fee: Double Bed £14, Single Bed £9, Towel Set £5pp, per week.

Accidents do happen and we do ask our visitors to let us know of any breakages that may have occurred.
